A President in Denial

Standard

As of this Monday morning, the governors of four states: Alabama, Arkansas, Michigan and Texas stated that they refused to accept Syrian refugees into their states because of the very real dangers of hidden terrorists in their ranks. They are putting the safety of their citizens above all else. By evening that count of rebellious governors had risen from 4 to 25. Clearly, it’s a Constitutional question, whether the states can opt out of a federal immigration mandate, but the power of the majority of the states may not, in the end,  win out over an extreme Leftist administration.

President Obama, in remarks following the G20 Summit in Turkey made it clear that he also understands the possible dangers from an influx of Moslem/Syrian refugees:

“. . . one of the challenges we have in this situation is that if you have a handful of people who don’t mind dying, they can kill a lot of people, that’s one of the challenges of terrorism. It’s not their sophistication or the particular weaponry that they possess, but it is the ideology they carry with them and their willingness to die.”

That understanding, however, is apparently not a sufficient reason for him to change his mind about accepting thousands of Syrian refugees in the United States.

He said the United States would continue to accept more refugees from Syria and elsewhere, though “only after subjecting them to rigorous screening and security checks.” Our compassionate president did not, however, acknowledge the fact that we can only screen and check out these people using current databases developed by our security professionals and those of our allies; and he certainly doesn’t want to admit to the American citizens he was sworn to protect that we will know nothing about the vast majority of the refugees he intends to accept.

Those databases that we must use to “subject refugees to rigorous screening and security checks.” will not, and Obama must also know this, will not uncover those terrorists who are in “sleeper cells,” just waiting to be activated . . . exactly the ones that will be seeking entry to the United States to wreak the havoc that ISIL, ISIS, Muslum mullahs and Iatolahs and, in fact, the Quran itself promises to inflict on “infidels.”

National Defense; protecting America and its citizens “from enemies both foreign and domestic” is the president’s most important job — but to avoid doing that job Obama is using the excuse: “That’s not American (to turn away refugees). That’s not who we are.” He then mentions this great compassion America has for the rest of the world’s citizens.

My admittedly jaundiced view of this and many past actions of Barak Obama is that he is intentionally tearing down and corrupting American values, culture, security, national defense capabilities and our countries very soverignty. I repeat, intentionally!

It has been apparent since he first started seeking the presidency in 2001 that Obama has a deep seated contempt for our country and its constitution. Specifically, he made it clear back then that he wanted a road to redistribution of wealth; he stated that the Constitution did not go far enough. His thirst for wealth redistribution clearly marked him as a Socialist, an enemy of our Democratic process. A majority of American’s foolishly elected him anyway.

Knowing what you now know about Barak Obama, listen to this 2001 radio interview on Chicago Public Radio and make up your own mind about his intentions at the time, should he win the presidency.

Yes the United States is normally a compassionate country and will do whatever is needed to help people who are genuinely seeking refuge from dictatorial/inhumane regimes around the world, but this Syrian refugee situation presents a new dimension to the situation, a dimension that forces thoughtful people to seriously consider the possibly dire consequences of compassionate behavior.

PM Cameron: A Justifiable Lie or a Coward’s Stance?

Standard

ISIS

In My View: The actions of ISIS and ISIL are the true expressions of Islam as dictated by the Qur’an.

When British Prime Minister David Cameron stood in front of the TV cameras days ago and made the statement: “They (ISIS/ISIL) are killing and slaughtering thousands of people; they boast of their brutality, they claim to do this in the name of Islam, that is nonsense, Islam is a religion of peace.” He was telling a bare-faced lie — but he might have had an understandable reason.

To be sure, the civilized world was (or should have been) shocked by Cameron’s apparent cowardice! Here is a man who certainly must be aware that the “monsters” who have beheaded several citizens of Western Nations (including his own) in  videos spread all over the world are following the instructions to Muslims as laid out in the Qur’an, the holy book of this supposed “religion of peace’, the book they claim to be the true word of Allah.

According to the Qur’an, non-Muslims are simply “cattle” who can be slaughtered as a tribute to Mohammed, Islam’s  ‘prophet’ of God. If PM Cameron claims Islam is the religion of peace it is either through inexcusable ignorance or a justifiable fear of a Muslim uprising in the streets of London if he should reveal his true feelings. Cameron, I’m sure, is well aware of the true nature of Islam, and well aware of the threat to British citizens. His lie is justified, at least in his mind, as protection of the home-front.

The same can be said about President Obama. His apparently cowardly stance is, in his mind, justified by what will certainly happen here, in the streets of America, if he admits that the Nation of Islam and it’s many offshoots are following the religion of evil, not Peace.

Both countries have the same problem. We ignored the truth out of a misguided “Christian Charity” until it was too late. Britain especially is flooded with Muslims.

What is Islam, really! It is a religion that is supposed to be based on the true word of Allah (God), as revealed to a man history has shown was a psychotic sociopath: the Prophet Mohammed, prophet of Allah. His revelations are set forth in the Holy Book of the Qur’an. The Qur’an itself is the most important religious text of Islam, which Muslims believe to be a direct revelation from God.

Islam has one clear objective and that is NOT to bring peace to the world; a Muslim’s objective (clearly stated in the Qur’an) is to either kill or convert (by force if necessary) everyone who does not follow the teachings of the Qur’an. I repeat EVERYONE! This is the only path allowed to them by the Qur’an. This is done to advance the ultimate objective of the Muslim religion, the institution of a world-wide caliphate. A true Muslim who follows the teachings of Mohammed has no other choice.

The Muslim ‘religion’s’ teachings must be recognized as a declaration of war, a war by Islam waged against all non-Islamic countries and their non-Islamic citizens, and even some Islamic countries who prefer a less aggressive interpretation of the Qur’an.

The Qur’an is the source of the evil that is flooding Middle Eastern countries with blood and attacking the countries of Obama and Cameron who are both unable to acknowledge pure evil when the see it by publically recognizing the Qur’an as the source of that evil.

From the Qur’an (8:50-60): Let not the unbelievers think that they will ever get away. They have not the power to do so. Muster against them all the men and cavalry at your command, so that you may strike terror into the enemy of God and your enemy…

This is the Quranic justification for the action of the warriors of ISIS/ISIL.

And this from the Qur’an (47:4): When you meet the unbelievers in the battlefield strike off their heads and, when you have laid them low, bind your captives firmly.

Sound familiar?

It should!

How then can we explain the many thousands of people who call themselves Muslim but are living in peace among those of us who are considered by the monstrous religion known as Islam to be worth less than cattle. These people are are either ‘closet terrorists’ who are waiting for their instructions to destroy as many of the Kafirs (unbelievers) as they can or they themselves are infidels (by the Muslim definition) who have rejected Islam; they are no longer true Muslims! If they were true Muslims they would not be able to live in peace among the camels, goats and pigs.

If you do not want to destroy all that is not Muslim you are an infidel. If, however, these closet converts were to identify themselves as followers of any religion other than Islam their lives and the lives of their families will be seriously threatened and the threats would, if at all possible, be carried out.

Thoughts on the Syrian Conundrum

Standard

Syria warIn his address to the nation on September 10th, President Obama made a strong, very believable case against the very existence of Chemical (Serin gas) weapons. Especially when these weapons are in the armory’s of terrorist nations or nations that sponsor terrorism.

He also made a convincing argument for action against Syria.

He did not, however, explain why the civilized nations of the world are not acting and why the need to act has been laid at the feet of our nation; why the United States should act unilaterally to neutralize this threat. It’s a heavy and dangerous burden to bare just so we can claim the mantle of “American Exceptionalism.” It’s obvious that our exceptionalism, our willingness to carry war to rogue states, means nothing — even to the people of our supposed allied nations — who have made themselves invisible for the occasion.

Complete inaction, as Obama explained, is the same as a sanction and would effectively erode the world-wide ban against weapons of mass destruction (chemical or nuclear) and make insane megalomaniacs around the world feel safe to use them and or to give them to terrorists who would delight in killing anyone who does not share their social or religious beliefs.

So action is needed, I can certainly go along with that; but the action that is required is not, in my opinion, one superpower possibly endangering the world by threatening a limited strike and assuming that that is all that is required to make the bullies cower; the needed action is dozens of nations with their guns and missiles pointed at Syria and Iran.

OR . . . Perhaps the answer is Russia!

One can only guess at his motivations, but President Putin brokered a deal last week with Syrian President Assad that would have Syria join the International Chemical Weapons ban and allow all his chemical weapons to be placed into the hands of an independent 3rd party and eventually destroyed.

It’s very likely that this is a sincere effort because President Putin is just as afraid of chemical weapons getting into the hands of terrorists (which could easily happen in the midst of the ongoing Syrian Civil War) as we are.

Putin assisting President Obama out of his (our) bad situation in Syria might ‘stick in the craw’ of Obama and most Americans but it looks like (assuming that this IS a sincere effort on the part of Russia) Russia has done the United States a large favor. Putin has, of course, done himself a large favor at the same time by making himself look like a hero in the eyes of the world and possibly winning a nomination for the next Nobel Peace Prize.

The only real problem is that Putin has embarrassed President Obama and the American government by effortlessly resolving what could have, if Obama had muddled into this by doing it HIS way, turned into a very large crisis.

Another problem is that America has to agree to whatever terms are hammered out for the transfer and ultimate destruction of Syria’s chemical weapons inventory. Because Putin’s actions embarrassed us in the eyes of the world and because President Obama may not be man enough to swallow his pride and go along with reasonable terms, this might have a disastrous end after all.

And then there is Secretary of State Kerry. He finally, after all these years has some apparent power and it’s obviously going to his head. Right now he’s in Geneva acting more presidential than our president ever has. He could easily “queer” the whole deal.

If America decides not to go along with a reasonable resolution to the chemical weapons conundrum and proceeds with his “targeted strike” its easy to see Iran getting involved and, from there, all Hell MIGHT break loose.

While all this is going on it’s interesting to note that the Obama Administration has just sent weapons to Al Queda and continues to insist that Assad be removed from office by his opposition. The problem with that is that history (the history of Iran) would likely repeat itself in Syria.

The Shah of Iran, like President Assad, was a brutal ruler but, also like Assad, he was not an enemy of America. President Jimmy Carter didn’t know enough to leave him alone and let his run HIS country the way he wanted, it meant nothing to Carter that the people who were known as his opposition and successors were not only more brutal than the Shah but were sworn enemies of ANY country that did not embrace Shria Law.

In Syria, if history repeats itself and Assad is replaced by an extremist Muslim government (which is almost a certainty) it will be a puppet government to Iran and Israel will have an even more dangerous ‘next door’ neighbor than it has now.

Why then is President Obama arming Assad’s opposition? For the same reason President Carter supported the Shah’s opposition; they are both shallow, narrow minded and self-righteous leaders. They both live in a Fantasy Land where every government is benign and democratic (and Christian). In fact many, if not most, of our Senators and Congressmen seem to have the same fantasy.

It’s time for America to get real and get out of Fantasy Land!

Edward Snowden: Patriot or Villain

Standard

Snowden

Is Edward J. Snowden a hero, as the sign says, or a treasonous villain who, possibly, as an operative for a foreign government, was under orders to pull the teeth out of an important government counter terrorism operation.

I would say he is probably a patriotic American who came across the information that our government was illegally accessing phone records and was so fed up with the insidious tactics of the Obama administration over the past 5-1/2 years, he felt that he had to do something . . . something rash, even if that would put him in danger.

If he was working as a foreign spy or even as an enemy of America, as many in the media (Left- as well as Right-leaning) have suggested, there would have been no reason for him to come forward last week and break his cover; the information was out there and he could have just ‘disappeared’. If he was anything but a martyr for the cause of government transparency, he would have not gone to Hong Kong and then revealed exactly where he was in that city, when he knew that Hong Kong and the United States had an extradition treaty; instead he would have simply boarded a Hong Kong ferry that would have taken him to mainland China where he could ask for, and probably receive, political asylum. (Granted, he also probably knew that extradition from Hong Kong is a very lengthy process, giving him time to argue his case.)

Today the ACLU filed suit against the Obama Administration, charging that their mass collection of phone records is illegal. I don’t often take sides with the ACLU, but this time I’m behind them. This time they are going up against a president who acts more like a Czar that an American president. A president who has made it clear through his actions and through the actions of his appointees that he believes that there is no law, civil liberty, tradition or precedent in the United States that is more important to him than his personal/political agenda.

I may be wrong about Snowden and his motives, time will tell on that one, but it’s been apparent (at least to me) from the very beginning of his administration that neither Barack Hussain Obama or his political appointees can be trusted or believed.

Obama’s ‘Sequestaria’

Standard

President Obama has assembled his troops to whip up a hysteria over the upcoming budget sequester. If you can manage to translate all the ‘financialese’ surrounding this issue you will understand why President Obama, who is the actual ‘father’ of this sequester, is now so against it.

The sequester, if the Republican Congress does not ‘wuss out,’ will accomplish “some” of what politicians with economic savvy have been trying to accomplish since President Obama took office: it will somewhat reduce the size of government and to some extent reduce spending. In spite of what you have been hearing from the “Obama Media,” the military will not be crippled (perhaps handicapped but not crippled) and the country will not go into a full recession.

The following points were made in an article in Human Events, written by financial guru Lawrence Kudlow:

The $85 billion so-called spending cut is actually a cut in budget authority, not budget outlays. “According to the CBO, budget outlays will come down by $44 billion.” [The main point is the amount of money the government is ‘allowed’ to spend (their budget authority) is being reduced.] There is a reduction in the budget outlay (the amount is is currently being spent) but “that $44 billion outlay reduction is only 1.25 percent of the $3.6 trillion government budget.

“And please remember [Kudlow points out] that these so-called cuts come off a rising budget baseline in most cases. So the sequester would slow the growth of spending. They’re not real cuts in the level of spending. (Not that a level reduction is a bad idea.)”

“Looking at the sequester in this light,” Kudlow continues, “its clear that it won’t result in economic Armageddon. In fact, I’ll make the case that any spending relief is actually pro-growth. Thats right. When the government spending share of GDP declines, so does the true tax burden on the economy. As a result, more resources are left in the free-market private sector, which will promote real growth.”

We’ve been through four plus years of reckless spending by an administration that either has no clue about how the economy works or does not care; and a budget (Constitutionally mandated) has not passed the Democratic-controlled Senate in those four years. The country has been driven in the direction one man wanted to drive it and that one man apparently has no real regard for the nations econonomic health — his only often-stated concern is fairness; and his attempts at fairness have never been really fair to all Americans, only to the poorest. That may sound noble but it’s a sure way to destroy a country’s economic foundation; it is also self-serving; think about it: as the unemployment rate rises, more and more people are forced into that “poor” category and the president has a better argument for a larger and ever growing government.

The sequester probably (hopefully) will go into effect on March 1st. No doubt, it will bring lots of pain but it will be a healing and needed pain.

Make no mistake, however, even a harsh cutback will not set the country back on the correct course; in the end, the only thing that will set the country back on that course is getting someone with economic sense, a clear vision and a true respect for America in the Oval Office to replace President Barack Obama who displays none of those qualities.

Pessimism on the National and International Fronts

Standard

The national and world “News” during this past two weeks can be summed up in a couple compound sentences:

The Republicans lost and are trying to justify it while the Obama administration sees their win as a mandate to complete the economic devastation they began during their first four years.

The Israelis are defending themselves against an Arab world that continues to deny their right to defend themselves (or even their right to exist) and Iran continues to develop nuclear weapons while the world is distracted by this Israel/Palestine conflict.

I’m not a prophet but I don’t have to be to see that the United States and the world are in very bad shape today and it will get much worse.

Obama may find a way to ‘bridge’ the “fiscal cliff” for a year or two but it eventually must be dealt with and the most expedient way to do that is to drastically reduce the reach and size of the Federal Government. Can you see that happening during a second Obama administration? I certainly can’t!

On the international front, I’ve implied here that the war Palestine started with Israel is just a planned distraction that is being financed by Iran to take the world’s attention away from their nuclear ambitions. That is admittedly just an assumption but it seems to be working that way. Of course, on a positive note, the Israelis are smart and they still may be keeping a close eye on Iran; the negative aspect however can’t be dismissed by sheer optimism. This ever escalating border conflict is certainly sapping Israeli resources and in the end all they can hope to depend on is aide and support from their ally but . . . since that ally is the ‘United States of Obama’, they might be out of luck.

My parents never taught me the rule about not saying anything if you don’t have anything good to say — I think I learned that from a Salvation Army Major at a bus stop. I do, however, like to be optimistic when there is justification (or at least room for wishful thinking) so let me end with some hopeful optimism on the domestic front.

The Republican party is engaged in a post-election civil war of sorts right now and I hope that by the 2014 midterms they will have arrived at several basic understandings:

1) The truth, when spoken by an unlikable person, might as well not be spoken.

2) The Bible is a religious document and not a set of societal rules in a Democracy. A “Christian” legislator is not only working for other Christians, he/she is working for ALL his/her constituents; which leads to understandings 3 and 4:

3) Republicans appeared (and, in fact were) hypocritical by denouncing Obamacare for allowing the government to get between a person and his/her doctor while advocating interference between a pregnant woman and her doctor.

4) The LGBT community has as many rights under the Constitution as the Catholic Church.

I have been preaching this common sense stuff since 2006 when I began this blog and still, 323 posts later, I haven’t found any reason to significantly change my views.

Perception defeats reality

Standard

This post is from a Herman Cain Newsletter and it delivers a unique take on why Obama won the election — the insight is derived from a conversation between Herman Cain and his driver while on vacation in the Bahamas:

Perception defeats reality

By HERMAN CAIN – Ask a Bahamian driver if you don’t believe me.

Perception won on Election Day. We get that.

But I did not realize how effective the Obama and Democrat talking points were until my wife and I were riding to the airport in the Bahamas last Saturday after a much needed week of vacation.

Alfred, our driver, struck up a conversation about the recent presidential election, and recited the Obama talking points almost verbatim as to why he thought Obama won. And he was not even eligible to vote.

Alfred’s observations were the following:

● Obama inherited a bigger economic crisis than most people thought.

● The U.S. economy is recovering, but Obama needs more time.

● Obama cares more for the common man than Romney.

Those are the sound bites that Obama and the Democrats repeated over and over whether they were true are not, and people who can’t even vote believed it.

Alfred did not bring up the Benghazi coverup, the high unemployment rate, the anemic GDP growth rate, much higher gasoline prices, the Fast and Furious debacle or the coming job losses that will be the consequences of Obamacare.

Alfred was another example of how perception beat out reality. Now, the impact of the aforementioned issues will painfully unfold in the eyes of those who did not want to open their eyes to the facts. And yes, the mainstream media was an overt part of this historic presidential perception campaign.

What troubles me most about the Obama re-election is the unnecessary economic suffering and job loss that will happen over the next four years, due to ineffective tax policy and new regulatory burdens on businesses and families.

I did not try to argue Alfred’s perceptions, because I was relaxed from vacation and I wanted to stay that way for at least a few days more. But I did make one important observation that he acknowledged.

He asked if the Republicans would continue to stop Obama from doing what he wants to do. I said that if it is the wrong thing to do they should and they will.

Alfred said that makes sense. So he was not ready to blame accept Obama’s claim that Republican obstructionism is to blame for all of Obama’s failures.

As we arrived at the airport, Alfred commented that he respected me for, so to speak, calling a spade a spade. Alfred is a proud Bahamian Black man, so his comment wasn’t taken as being about skin color. And then we agreed, it is about “green” – economics.

Despite the growing la-la land of perception here in the USA, reality will eventually prevail – very painfully. Watch the facts unfold.
