I often tell myself that President Trump should stop picking meaningless fights, like his feud with the Democratic party’s new ‘Indian Princess’, and focus on bigger issues . . . but that self-dialogue is always abruptly halted by my deeply-held belief that Donald Trump always knows what he’s doing. His rants against his political foes, while they may seem petty and unimportant to me, are plays to attract votes from the voters who prefer political confrontation to polite dialogue. Trump appreciates those people because he is one of them and they are the majority of Americans who keep this country real and keep it free from ‘overgovernment.’
Now the title of this blog entry may, at first, appear to be a political pitch, but it’s not. This post is not about our great country’s economic strength or our military strength or our victories against terrorists and those who would be happy to see the United States of America burn; this post is about what may happen if the House of Representatives goes Democratic after the rapidly upcoming mid-term elections.
You saw for yourself this past week, the lunacy of the far left. You saw them ready to shred basic legal principles such as ‘innocent until proven guilty’, and the responsibility of an accuser to actually face the accused and prove his or her accusations are true. Anyone who is paying attention should be able to see that the Far Left was using Dr. Ford, not to bring to light any crimes committed against her but to defeat the Supreme Court nomination of a jurist who has, in case after case, proven to be a potentially great Supreme Court Justice. The Far Left does not want a fair and thoughtful judge on the Supreme Court, they want justices who throw away logic in favor of emotions.
The far left, and at this point this includes many of the Democrats who used to be liberal but have been enticed and then captured by the far left, is in many ways far more dangerous than our foreign enemies. They are trying to change the very fabric of America by corrupting our laws our constitutional rights and our social norms one by one.
Not ‘If’ but ‘When’ you vote in the mid-term election, (and it is imperative that we all vote in this mid-term election) please keep in mind that the Democratic Party is determined to and strong enough to take over the House of Representatives if Conservative, Independent and right-leaning voters see this as just another boring mid-term election and then stay at home on election day. This will all but end the incredible era of prosperity and progress that President Trump started and is determined to continue. That would be a National tragedy.
Did President Trump’s statements/pleas at NATO blow the American Liberal conspiracy/Russia collusion nuts out of the water? Hell no! One has to believe that the American far-Left is too brain-dead to pay any attention to reality; too Hell-bent on revenge against Trump for making the American people realize that for 8 years Barack Obama has been slowly and systematically destroying America and that Hillary was anxiously waiting her turn to finish the job.
What the Hell is wrong with anti-Americans like far-Left protesters and their military wing, ANTIFA. The American system allowed them to get an education, gave them the freedom to organize, speak and publish their beliefs; the American Constitution, the American military, and Federal and local law enforcement protected all of us, patriots and dissenters alike, as much as possible, from harm initiated by foreign countries as well as from lawless forces here in the United States.
How does their recognition of all of this then warrant destroying American flags, physically attacking people who disagree with their opinions and causing untold amounts of damage to businesses that happen to be in their path? It doesn’t of course.
These are people who have no respect for America, the Constitution or our flag and rather than getting out of this “terrible” country they want to destroy it, just like Obama tried to do and like Hillary was anxious to do. One can only guess at their motivations.
It’s far past time for Americans who love being Americans to get rid of the scourge from the far Left. No, not by violent means but by loudly rejecting their arguments and philosophies. Vote against them when you have the chance. Speak up to oppose them in public and private forums. Publish! It’s so easy to do in this age of Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and hundreds of social-media outlets that most of us are probably unaware of. Far Past Time for freedom-loving, non-violent Americans to steal the media spotlight away from the Fascists who pretend to be Anti-fascists and from the others on the far-Left. We won’t always be successful because there is much truth in the title of Michael Savage’s best seller titled “Liberalism is a mental disorder.” Hopefully it can be cured.
One of my mother’s favorite sayings was “you made your bed now lay in it.” That may sound rather archaic and rightfully so, if my mother was alive, she would have been 107 years old last month.
We now have millions of people in this country who choose to ignore the logic of the old sayings like “you made your bed . . .” because to not ignore them would put them face to face with reality, a face-off most people will avoid at all costs.
Yes, reality is very harsh an very unforgiving; the reality of what happens to you when you choose to ignore a law is a great and current example. We have millions (no one seems to know how many millions) of people in this country who entered here knowing they were breaking our immigration laws and understanding that if they were caught they would get sent back to where they came from. They took a chance!
Some of them were lucky and managed to stay here, hiding from our immigration enforcement agents for many years, some are still hiding, others managed to get permanent residency or even full citizenship.
Some of them were caught and deported, some were detained and then either allowed to stay because of some special program or finally deported.
Some, as we see in the headlines today, were thoughtless or irresponsible enough to bring their minor children with them.
All of them and all of us have at some point proven my mother’s generation right by being forced to “lay in the bed” they carelessly made.
All of these illegal immigrants in America however, in spite of cries off anguish and charges of inhumane treatment, can consider themselves fortunate. In may countries they would have been thrown in jail, tortured and even executed for ignoring the sovereignty of a country’s borders. Not in America!
Sovereignty — “a country’s independent authority and right of self-control.” Now there is a concept that many of the far Left and many in the media would love to ignore and/or redefine.
A research study published in the Journal for the Scientific Study of Religion authored by Paul K. McClure of Baylor University, and quoted in the psychology and neuroscience news website “PsyPost” appears to answer that question: Yes (or at least a qualified Yes)!
Quoting from the PsyPost article:
McClure found that the more that individuals use the Internet, the less likely the chance of them remaining “religiously affiliated and religiously exclusive.” Increased internet use, however, was not found to be responsible for decreased participation in religious activities. McClure states that:
“One of my main findings in this study is that increases in internet use correlate with a loss of religious affiliation, and I also discovered that individuals who spend lots of time online are less likely to be religious exclusivists, or in other words they’re less likely to think there’s only one correct religion out there.”
I will not attempt to debate the results of the Baylor University study but I think the stated “conclusion” Mr. McClure has drawn from this study may be a little one-sided.
“To make sense of these findings, I argue that internet use encourages a certain ‘tinkering’ posture which makes individuals feel that they’re no longer beholden to institutions or religious dogma.”
Rather than looking at the study findings in a negative light, which McClure appears to do, I will argue that religious dogma, which relies on blind faith and strict obedience to a religion’s interpretation of ancient, translated text, has met it’s match in the diversity and constant flow of new information provided by the Internet. The Internet has, indeed, set individuals free from the belief that they are beholden to an organized religion or a set of religious dogma.
Donald J. Trump certainly has some character flaws, don’t just take my word for it, just turn on CNN.
That seems to be all they do at CNN (and other Liberal news networks): point out our president’s character flaws. They feel compelled to criticize President Trump because he’s an outspoken, unapologetic change maker and the political antithesis of their ‘beloved’ past leader, Barack Hussein Obama. (I always make sure to include Obama’s middle name because I am one of those “evil” minions of the Center Right who enjoys reminding every one that Obama [regardless of where he was born] is a Muslim Patriot who openly disrespected America and what it stands for.)
I do not believe that the Liberal media or the Liberals in Congress will be able to accomplish their stated objective of impeaching President Trump. I don’t believe that the Liberal smear campaign will do anything but strengthen the resolve of those of us who see President Trump as a savior for this nation.
About Those Character Flaws – So What!
No, the media and the President’s other detractors are not making it up! Trump has, at times, very little discipline over his mouth (or his Tweets) and that has damaged him by making some of his supporters into detractors. I have very little hope that he will correct these glaring imperfections in the short term but I am hopeful that, in the long term, the Americans who elected him will come to understand that what he says (and what he Tweets) are greatly overshadowed by what he has accomplished so far and what he will accomplish while in office.
We don’t elect a president as a role model for our personal or family lives, at least I certainly don’t, we should elect presidents to move our country in a positive direction. Trump has done this!
World Net Daily has published a list of 175 major accomplishments during his first 357 days in office. You won’t find this list in the New York Times or Washington Post and will not hear about many of them on Liberal news networks.
Please check out “Big List of 175 Trump accomplishments in 357 days” at http://www.wnd.com/2017/11/4621979/ and remember that in February you will see the first benefits of the tax reform measures that President Trump championed in 2017.
A Personal Disclaimer
I personally disagree with some things the Trump administration is pushing, i.e., doing away with a woman’s abortion option, their opposition to gay rights and their apparent welcome to the involvement of religion in politics but, as I indicated before, that is all overshadowed by he important stuff: the fact that President Trump believes in ‘America First’ and is actively ‘involved in a campaign to “Make America Great Again.”
I’ve changed the title of this blog from My View From The Center to My Views on Politics and Society, partially because of criticism that my old title implied that my perspective and thoughts represented the “political center”, which they do not and never did. I guess that WAS a bit deceptive.
As I wrote in my Profile (click the little picture up on the top right of any page): “Yes, as I see it, I’m in the Center. Quasi-Conservative, quasi-Libertarian and, for flavor, add some Randian also. No I’m not confused! I’m just an independent soul with a mind of my own.”
Aside from that, the political “Center” keeps moving, as do all of our “centers” if we are true political animals who keep up on politics from day to day.
Finally, I changed this blog’s title because I also blog on social issues, as often as I do on political issues.
